Summary:
Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Role Description:
Operation of Filter Press equipment and chemical composition checks for water quality.
Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to:
eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Responsibilities:
Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Operation of all Filter Press related equipment.
Periodic operation of Polishing related equipment, including overhead crane operation.
Responsible for quality control.
Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications.
Reject product outside of specifications.
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Communicate with other Operators, Assistant Shift Leaders and Shift Leader.
Ensure a clean and safe work area.
Complete shift paper work.
Assist in production as necessary.
Otherduties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:
Education and Work
Experience:
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of basic Polishing processes, procedures, and machinery (ex.
Calibration, polishing, filter press, crane).
Experience in the safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
Ability to work overtime hours as needed with little or no notification.
