Quality Control Technician Position Overview:
Nippon Light Metal Georgia, Inc.
(NLM) is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our rapidly growing company located in Adairsville, Georgia.
While we are in the start-up phase of the company, this position offers an opportunity for candidates to be a key team member for the foundation of our company! Now is a great time to join our team! The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for the inspection of parts and products using all applicable specifications and quality assurance guidelines.
The specialist maintains a gage and tool calibration system, conducts inspections of products and ensures that nonconforming products are properly processed.
The specialist prepares inspection acceptance and rejection paperwork and maintains records, files and related documentation as necessary.
This includes but is not limited to supplier product quality, incoming inspection, FMEA's, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Application and operation of quality inspection tools and procedures.
Use tools such as micrometers, calipers, hardness meters, tensile testing and PH testing equipment to perform product and process inspections.
Conduct dimensional inspection of components using inspections tools such as a CMM and gages.
Maintain calibration of inspection measuring and test equipment and associated history files.
Establish a tool and equipment calibration schedule with external vendors.
Record the results of inspections and audit findings using appropriate forms.
Report all product nonconformance issues to the lead person, Quality Manager, Production Manager as appropriate.
Determine the dispensation of nonconforming products.
Support defect root cause investigations leading to corrective action determination.
Conduct annual process audits of all production lines across all shifts.
Conduct annual product audits across all shifts.
Ensure compliance with the quality control system and work to obtain ISO certification.
Develop, collect and analyze quality metrics Promote adherence to quality standards, test methodologies, quality plans, documents and procedures, etc.
Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and quality system standards Ensure quality inspection areas are safe, neat, clean and organized.
Perform special projects as requested and related task as needed.
Requirements:
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to manipulate, handle and feel objects, tools or controls.
The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
The employee must be able to speak and hear and must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to auto focus.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Education / Work
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of quality work experience in an automotive manufacturer Familiarity with inspections techniques and measurement devices.
Experience as an internal ISO auditor, is preferred.
Understanding of manufacturing procedures and specifications.
Understanding of diagrams and prints.
Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.

Will have a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques.
Proficiency in using statistical, quality and continuous improvement methods, and data analysis to diagnose and correct improper quality practices.
Must have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to work in a high temperature environment.
Is able to work independently with little direction.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
