Summary:
Support General Counsel on behalf of YANMAR for Americas business operations of Yanmar America Corporation, Yanmar Mastry Engine Center, LLC, Tuff Torq Corporation, Transaxle Manufacturing America, HiPower Systems, Inc.
, GetMyBoat, Inc.
, Yanmar Compact Equipment North America, Inc.
, and ELEO Technologies, Inc.
in conjunction with Yanmar Co.
, LTD, Yanmar Europe, Yanmar Marine International and Yanmar Americas Business Divisions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works directly with GC to address legal goals and priorities, evaluate / improve company legal exposure to national and international laws.
Assist with Intellectual property and brand management maintenance activities.
Assist with administration and maintenance of regional companies' corporate records.
Assist with monitoring and updating company practices in accordance with development of domestic / international laws.
Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable regulations for lithium-ion batteries, controllers, motors, charging systems, and vehicle integration.
Assist with supporting the evaluation of Yanmar's non-road products, marine vessels, and stationary equipment with all applicable regulations in the US, Canada, and Europe.
Assist with researching and evaluating mandatory regulations and voluntary standards for product safety and performance, including structural integrity (ROPS, FOPS), braking, EMC, stability, labeling and warnings, functional safety of control systems, etc.
Assist with researching and evaluating regulations for cybersecurity, vehicle autonomy, service accessibility, and telematics.
Assist with identifying and preparing evaluation plans with internal business and external testing labs.
Assist with evaluating new product proposals with applicable regulations and internal policies.
Assist with researching and coordinating with business units and product development teams on current and emerging world-wide engine standards applicable to Yanmar products.
Attend industry conferences, workshops, and tradeshows to collect regulatory trends and influence future regulations in accordance with Yanmar's policies.
Assist with coordinating with Yanmar engineering departments and regulatory authorities to certify new engine technologies.
Assist with preparing regulatory summarizes and conduct training for Yanmar management and staff.
Assist with electronic records of test reports, compliance evaluations, and regulation summaries.
Assist with dealer terminations and repurchase obligations.
Assist with export control administration.
Assist with employee training.
Assist with contracts management.
Assist with conflict minerals reporting.
Assist with reports to CSR Coordinate assigned projects with all relevant Yanmar business entities.
Assist with maintenance of policies and procedures database All other duties as assigned and/or needed to be successful in this position.

hours per day in a plant/office setting.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree Juris Doctor Degree Two to three (2-3) years of experience in practice of corporate law in a law firm or company setting.
Adept at working in a demanding, privately owned and financially rigorous company.
Thrive in a culture of ownership and accountability.
Deep knowledge and functional use of MS Office tools.
Ability to work 8
hours per day in a plant/office setting.
Must be able to navigate all areas of the building and facility as needed.
May occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds in an office, customer or similar setting.
Appropriately interact with others in stressful and busy situations.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Ability to travel domestic and international.

Hybrid Work locations:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
